The link between the mind and the body is now a matter of scientific fact. Dr Candace Pert (www.candacepert.com) established, some years ago, that emotions are chemicals in the body and that they have impact on the cells of the body: positive emotions enhance health and negative emotions detract from it. Therefore, energy techniques, in releasing emotions trapped in the body from past trauma, can also have a significant positive impact on pain and dis-ease.
With her knowledge of Meta-Health, Amanda can target particular themes and events and use energy techniques to free you of their current negative impact. For many people, this results in the reduction or complete release of pain and other symptoms.
What are “Energy Techniques”?
As Csiksgentmihalyi says, attention is like an energy, by which we create ourselves. The attention we pay to different experiences, the way we “hold” these experiences in our systems, starts, early in life, to define us.
Energy techniques focus on transforming these energy attention points in our present - which are still echoing the impact of past events. The techniques release “stuck” energy, allowing it to flow freely and so enable us to access our most resourceful states. This group of techniques use the stimulation of energy meridian points in the body - akin to acupuncture, but using percussive pressure, rather than needle stimuli.

These techniques involve gently tapping on key points on the body, to release energy that has become stuck. This is actually what we instinctively do to soothe emotion - we pat a crying child on the back; we rub our temples if we are stressed; some people instinctively place a hand at the base of the throat when distressed - these actions have a calming effect.
Scientists have discovered that, not only do these techniques lower levels of cortisol in the blood, but that symptoms of psychological distress and anxiety can be reduced as a result of their use.
Therapists find that these techniques help clients access their subconscious drivers swiftly and gently. It is then possible to release these by changing the focus of attention and aligning energy with desired states and outcomes.
